2024 Genesis GV70 Review
The 2024 Genesis GV70 is back with new ways to take care of its driver and passengers. This spacious ride aims to spoil you with more amenities and the latest technologies.
These luxury SUVs have a great reputation, even earning Motor Trend SUV of the Year in 2022. Still, it’s got to be right for you. That’s why we brought all the details together to answer your questions and to help you decide how this ride will fit your luxury lifestyle.
What’s New?
For the new model year, the 2.5T AWD has unique 19-inch alloy wheels. New safety standards, perfect for such a speedy ride, are monobloc front brakes. This means more stopping power with less stress.
For 2024, the 3.5T AWD model now has more standard driver assistance. A more advanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 watches for junction dangers and assists the driver in avoiding common accident scenarios. In addition, Highway Driving Assist 2 is a more advanced semi-automatic system that does more of the work for the driver on long empty stretches of highway.
Sport Prestige 2.5T models are now more in line with the 3.5T Sport Prestige model. They have coveted front-row ventilated seats and rear door shades to help you out in the hot Phoenix summers. A Lexicon premium audio system surrounds you with glorious sound. Plus a remote smart parking assist is a new standard.
All models now have a WiFi hotspot. This keeps everyone connected easily. It’s great for passengers who want to be online. Shoppers can get competitive loans and leases when they finance with our dealership.
Speedy Powertrains and A Secret Super Power
Keeping the GV0 moving, there are two excellent powertrains. The first is a turbo that generates 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Despite this high power output, it sips fuel because its a four-cylinder turbocharged unit.
Even better, the twin-turbo V6 engine generates 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. You can bet you’ll feel confident whenever you hit the gas to accelerate onto a busy highway.
Taking things beyond the self-adjusting suspension, the GV70 V6 models have a secret super power. A camera-based suspension allows the model to react before the luxury SUV hits a bump or rolls into a dip. Over and over, it shaves off seconds or milliseconds to smooth the ride more than even a regular suspension.
This suspension set the GV70 apart and was just one of the many reasons that Motor Trend gave it SUV of the Year. Two years later, it is still unique and still worth a test drive just to discover how well it handles the road.
Torque Vectoring and Free Wheeling
The GV70 price includes all-wheel drive whether you choose the 3.5T or 2.5T model. This means you’ve got extra help when the weather is bad. When off-roading, this really comes in handy.
To be fuel efficient, these Genesis SUVs can use front wheel drive. If the system senses a problem, it moves the torque to the rear wheels from 20 to 50 percent. This provides grip on sand or snow.
This freewheeling SUV has another secret weapon. The rear differential can move torque as well as the all-wheel drive system. It moves the torque from left to right. This is helpful on steep curves like those that descend into our canyons or travel up our mountains. This helps the inner and outer wheels maintain the same pace.
With AWD and torque vectoring at work, the vehicle not only recognizes individual wheelspin but it can do whatever it takes to counter slippage.
The New GV70 by the Numbers
How big is the 2024 GV70? There’s more than 38 inches of headroom on both rows. Plus the driver has 41.3 inches of legroom, and the back seat passengers have 37.2 inches of legroom.
The cargo hold measures 28.9 cargo feet. That’s quite large compared to the Mercedes GLC, which has only 19.4 cubic feet in its hold. Folding the second row, the GV70 has 56.9 cubic feet of flat space for your gear or boxes.
Certain trim levels can pull up to 3,500 pounds of trailer weight. That’s enough for fun stuff like jet skis or a small camper. If you do head off the pavement, the ground clearance for this all-wheel drive SUVS is 7.3 inches.
GV70 Prices and Value
Genesis shoppers can expect the luxury prices to be more affordable from first to last. That’s because the GV70 price tends to either undercut its rivals or tends to include a package that exceeds its rivals. Sometimes it manages to do both.
The 2.5T GV70 price starts at $44,900 MSRP. The 3.5T GV70 AWD price starts at $57,900 MSRP. The Sport Prestige 2.5T GV70 price starts at $56,800 MSRP while the Sport Prestige 3.5T GV70 price starts at $67,100 MSRP. Destination fees are $1,195.
Kelley Blue Book named it a Best Buy of 2023. Edmunds has named it number one for several reasons, including the way its price undercuts German rivals and other competitors.

Lush Interiors
From the richest leather to the softest microsuede, there’s a range of choices for your interior. You can go lighter with vanilla beige or keep things classic with obsidian black. Ultramarine blue and Savilla Red are filled with personality.
Genesis creates each element of the interior to work seamlessly with the whole. Colors, materials, and shapes are chosen to integrate fully. Craftsmen bring together the look that reflects the work of engineers, designers, and today’s best design technology.
The cabin becomes even more upscale with the Sport Package. It provides ventilated front seats and a power-adjusting, power-bolstering driver’s chair with cushion extension. For the lushest look, Nappa leather covers the seats of the Sport Prestige, and softness extends overhead with a microsuede headliner.
Technology
Genesis has created dual screens that give drivers everything they need in easy eye contact. Behind the bespoke steering wheel, a digital instrument screen can be configured to show the details most important to the driver. Beside it on the dash, a large 14.5 inch touch screen handles entertainment and navigation duties. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay stretch what the system can do with the apps on a driver’s smartphone.
A 360-degree system, standard on the Advanced trim level, shows everything around the SUV while parking. A head-up display makes it easier and safer for a driver to glance at important information such as the speed limit, the SUV speed, and turn-by-turn directions.
Safety
Collision avoidance assist includes the forward collision warning, pedestrian watch, and emergency autobrake. This system includes advanced aspects such as junction assistance. The system can watch the oncoming traffic lane, the side traffic and other potential dangers to help the driver.
A lane keep assist helps the driver stay on the safest trajectory. The blind spot monitor has an avoidance assist function. For an even more automated drive, there’s smart cruise control and even more advanced highway driving assist.
Price and Value
The GV70 is priced similar to or less than its competitors. Even so, the packaging is a better value. Buyers get more for their money whether it’s safety, driver assistance, dash tech or amenities.
For instance, if you choose the Mercedes-Benz GLC Class or BMW X3, you’ll be paying much more to get equivalent features to the GV70. This is why Genesis earned the Best Buy Award from Kelley Blue Book.
When SUV awards and rankings favor a new luxury SUV as they do with the GV70, resale values are almost guaranteed to remain positive. Furthermore, Genesis warranties are longer than rivals by as much as four years. The Genesis powertrain warranty is ten years or 100,000 miles.
